Consent to Personal Data Processing

Last updated 29 October 2026

This page sets out the consent given by checking “I consent to the processing of personal data” when creating an Organisation or joining one as a member in Singularity. It supplements the Privacy Notice, which describes the data, the purposes and your rights.

1. What you consent to

You agree that Legal Machines may process your personal data described in the Privacy Notice, for the purposes described there. In practice that is your name and work email, the security details of your seat, and the technical data created when you sign up and sign in, such as network addresses and, for sign-up on the legalmachines.org website, the signals Google reCAPTCHA sees. Where it applies, you also agree to that data being kept in the Netherlands and reached from other countries, as the Privacy Notice, Section 9, describes.

2. When this consent is the basis

Some countries’ laws require consent to process personal data, or to transfer it to another country. Where such a law applies, this consent is that basis. Where none does, for example under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, we process your data on the other bases the Privacy Notice sets out, mainly our and the Organisation’s legitimate interest in providing the account, and checking the box records that you have read how we do so.

3. What this does not cover

This consent does not cover the Organisation’s matters, documents and work. Singularity is designed to keep them on the Organisation’s own computers, so that Legal Machines does not receive them (Privacy Notice, Section 6).

It also does not cover the Organisation Contact Email. That address must be a shared mailbox the Organisation controls, not an individual’s personal address (Terms of Use, Section 4); it is a record of the Organisation, and its use does not depend on this consent. The separate confirmation given about it when creating an Organisation is a statement of fact about that address, not a consent to process anyone’s personal contact details.

4. Withdrawing consent

You may withdraw this consent at any time by writing to inbox@legalmachines.org. A seat cannot work without its sign-in details, so withdrawing closes your seat; the Organisation’s administrator can invite you again later. Withdrawing does not affect processing before it, or processing we continue on another basis the Privacy Notice describes, such as keeping the records the law requires.

5. Contact
